This daybed is perfect for our purposes: have a loft with a second TV and needed seating for kids playing video games or watching TV plus could use a little extra sleeping space. This looks great in the open loft and sleeps two when needed. Easy to assemble--my husband and I didn't argue once when putting it together---might be a first lol!

The bed is awesome! One thing is the bed quality is great. The wood is WOOD. Is a nice heavy quality wood. Looks great and the kids love it!

[...] There were a couple of missing screws and a missing dowel for assembly, but these were readily available from our garage. Assembly was straightforward. After assembly my husband noted defects in the bed back frame. The back panel insert was not stained the entire width and height of the frame into which it was inserted by the manufacturer, so a lighter periphery could be seen around the insert. The back frame (which had been screwed and doweled together) by the manufacturer had been split by a countersunk screw. This split propagated through the cherry veneer revealing another light area. This bothered me, as I am the type that will sort through various products to find items without imperfections. So as instructed in the delivery instructions, I photographed the imperfections and sent them to Mercantila. Mercantila offered a sufficient refund that enabled my husband to repair the bed so that only I can tell that it was damaged. The assembled bed is very structurally sound. The cherry veneer is an attractive mid-range cherry color. The trundle bed frame which was included in the purchase price has a sturdy metal and wooden frame reinforced with eleven three inch wide wooden slats with a faux drawer front. It is sufficiently deep that a deep twin mattress (10 inches total from top of slat to bottom of daybed) could be used in the trundle. The construction of the trundle enables it to be pulled completely away from the daybed. The drawer side remains "fixed" (versus flipping down) and provides a lip to prevent rolling off the bed on that side, while the other end is low to the ground to enable the bed to be "made up" with ease on that side.

Very easy to assemble, which was important since it came with not directions. It's a great value and attractive. One design flaw exists. It needs a cross brace to keep the bed going out of square when moving the piece (which could crack the wood). The slats help a bit but the bed needs another cross brace to keep it solidly square.

Don't make mistake I did and confuse wood dowels--there are too lengths: long for bed and short for trundle--instructions could be better--but all in all and wonderful bed for the money--compare to [...]'s all wooden trundle, which looked cheesy at [...] after getting this one.

We use this as a guest bed in our office. I like this bed because it does not look like the typical boxy daybed- it actually looks like a nice piece of furniture. The price was right, easy to assemble and very good quality.

I really like this bed and it is really very sturdy (which is perfect for a child). It is a little high for a three year old to get into but she manages. The instructions were lacking but it was fairly easy to figure out without detailed instructions, although had I had detailed instructions it would have made the process of putting it together much faster. If you had two people it would have made the process of putting it together much easier but I was able to do it by myself (woman). I would suggest getting a rubber headed mallet to put in the wood screw covers (they are tight). The bed looks GREAT. The one down side is the trundle drawer can not double as a storage drawer (no bottom just open slates), which is what I had plan to use it for until she was older and had sleep overs. I would recommend this bed and would buy it again!

This was very easy to assemble after reading the directions and organizing the parts. It is a solid guest bed and had enough room to put a pillow top mattress on the bottom trundle.

The daybed looks great. It's for a guest room and hasn't been used yet so I can't speak on durability, although it seems well made. My only complaint is that the assembly directions consisted only of small diagrams which contained no written directions. I need words to help do something new! I had to get a magnifying glass to read some of the numbered parts. Parts were not marked on the pieces, so some guess work was involved.

The room had belonged to my daughter but when she went off to college she took her bed with her. The room has been my grandson's once or twice a week now but he's grown out of the protable crib I was using. I have wanted to buy a beautiful bed from a national home furnishings store where I normally shop but the price was daunting. I made the best choice in the world buying this one. The design of the two beds are very similar. With the trundle, I could have two family members or friends sleep comfortably. My daughter can easily stay the night if need be with her son. Both full size mattresses fit beautifully. I saved at least $500 by buying this bed. It's well made, significant, and a beautifully finished product. It's perfect!

There are few trundle beds on the market that have "adult appeal" in my opinion. I was looking for a simply designed wood frame that would blend into my eclectic decorating scheme. With the addition of some large cushions for the back and a few pillows, this trundle appears to be a sofa. Being in a small studio, I now have a really attractive sofa, bed and guest bed in a very limited space.

Daybed has a great modern look to it. Fits in the secondary bedroom nicely. Have to question the finish on the wood though. Looks to be sprayed on paint with a few areas being thicker than others. Luckily not in areas that will show too bad. But still would have liked to see a more consistent paint job. Overall very pleased with the product.
